Family!

Last night, I saw Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at the Riveria, and it was awesome!! I love her voice, and she puts on a great show, too. Brandon had to work until 9, but luckily he was able to meet me there after work, so the 2 tickets I got didn't go to waste.

Ahh, so the holidays are over now. It's so sad, and I hate this part of the year when it's cold for 3 or 4 months, and there's nothing to look forward to really until April. We're probably not taking a trip anywhere this year for spring break so we can save some $$, but it'd be nice to go somewhere close or something!

I was so happy that I got to spend time with my family and friends during the holidays, and it was longer than usual too! Usually, we go to my family's for 1 1/2 days, then go up to Brandon's family for the same amount of time, then back to Chicago for work. But we got to stay for a whole week!

I was able to spend plenty of time with Presley, and it was entertaining and tiring and fun all rolled into one. We also got to see my Dad's side of the family, who we don't see very often, so that was really nice.

Brandon has been on a camping kick, WINTER camping that is, and so him and his 3 friends went while we were in Indiana, and it snowed so much they only went for 1 night! I am excited about going camping in the summer, but no way will I voluntarily sleep outside in the cold. CRAAAZY!

I'm just so glad that we were able to spend so much time with family, it kind of made me miss living in Indiana. What?! I know, crazy. But I've experienced a lot in Chicago these past 5 years, all the food and activities, and I know that if we wanted to start a family, it would be so hard, expensive, and stressful to do here.

Plus, I want to be closer to family again. I miss them!

While I was home, we stopped at the Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen. I got the banana cream pie, and it was delicious! I had a very hard time deciding which kind I wanted, so many good looking pies!

I'm getting hungry for dinner, and really am wanting some Bahama Breeze! I used to go there with my mom a lot in high school when my dad played music there on the weekends, so I was sad when they closed a bunch of them in Indiana and Louisville. There's one in Schaumburg, so if we go it's at least a 45 min trek! They have the best Jerk Chicken Pasta and Cuban bread. And Banana Carmel dessert. And plantains.
